Chicago 시가 설립된 40년 후인 1867년 Chicago Musical College로 설립되어 시카고를 포함한 중서부 지역의 음악과 공연문화를 

백 여 년간 담당한 Chicago College of Performing Arts (CCPA)는 Illinois 주 Chicago에 위치한 Roosevelt University의 

공연예술대학입니다.  

Roosevelt University는 CCPA Music Conservatory, CCPA Theatre Conservatory, College of Arts & Sciences, College of Education, 

College of Pharmacy, Heller College of Business의 6 개 대학으로 구성됩니다.  

Roosevelt University와 CCPA의 관계는 마치 Eastman School of Music과 University of Rochester, 그리고 CCM 과 University of 

Cincinnati, CIM과 Case Western Reserve University의 관계와 유사하다고 생각하면 되겠습니다. CCPA에는 Music Conservatory와 

Theater Conservatory 두 기관이  있고, 40여 개 주와 25국에서 온 600명의 학생들이 공부합니다.

Roosevelt University의 음대라 할 수 있는 CCPA Music Conservatory에서는 Brass, classical guitar, music composition, music 

education. jazz & contemporary music, musical arts, opera, orchestral studies, percussion, piano, strings, voice, performing arts 

administration,  그리고 woodwinds 에서 BM, MM, 학위와 Performance Diploma 자격증을 수여합니다.

Roosevelt University의 주 공연장은 1889년에 완공된 Auditorium Building으로, 여기에는 Auditorium Reading Room, Auditorium Theatre, Congress Lounge, Fainman Lounge, Ganz Hall, Sullivan Room을 포함합니다.  

교수진은 세계적인 수준의 배우, 감독, 음악가들로 이들 중 Chicago Symphony Orchestra와 Chicago Lyric Opera 단원 30명과 

Broadway와 Chicago, West Coast 에서 이름있는 무대 공연 자들을 포함합니다. 

저명한 교수로는 Vadim Gluzman (moved to Peabody Institute of JHU, artist-in residence in 2018), Shmuel Ashkenasi, Robert Chen 

(Concertmaster of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra), Liu Yang, Tanya Carey, John Sharp (Principal cellist of the Chicago 

Symphony), Wendy Warner, Eugene Izotov, (Principal oboe of the Chicago Symphony), Dale Clevenger (Principal horn of the 

Chicago Symphony), Samuel Ramey, Richard Stillwell, 그밖에 많은 전설적인 음악가가 포함됩니다.
