Dear Kathleen:

The piano faculty have reviewed your pre-screening materials and invite you to audition for The Juilliard School. Congratulations!

Piano auditions will take place from Friday, March 1, and Monday, March 4 through Friday, March 8, 2013. We expect faculty to attend auditions as noted in the table below*:

*Faculty schedules are subject to change. Mr. Ax, Mr. Canin, and Mr. Kalichstein will not be able to attend MM or GD auditions this year. Admissions will work closely with applicants who are offered admission and who are requesting placement in any of these studios.

Because there are multiple dates available for your department we are happy to offer you the opportunity to submit a request for your preferred audition date, as noted below. (However, we cannot offer you an audition for your department outside of the above dates.)

Please note that Admissions' first priority is to schedule you on a day when your first-preferred teacher is expected to attend.

Reply to this e-mail with:

• Your INSTRUMENT
• Your name (as it appears on your application)
• The degree level to which you are applying (BM, DIP, MM, GD)
• Your 1st, 2nd, AND 3rd preferences for your Juilliard audition, in order of preference
  • Pick THREE dates from those listed above
  • You must be available to audition on ANY of those dates.
  • Please note: applicants may request DATES, not specific times.

Audition date requests MUST be submitted by 11:59pm (EST) on SUNDAY, JANUARY 27, 2013. We are unable to accommodate any requests received after this deadline.

Please send the above information to auditiondate@juilliard.edu (or simply "Reply" to this e-mail). Please do not send questions about your application (regarding transcripts, TOEFL, etc.) to this e-mail account. We are unable to accept audition date requests over the phone.

We will schedule requests on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you are not scheduled on your first preferred date it is because that day is already full. If you have an URGENT need for a particular date, DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE DEADLINE, BUT SUBMIT YOUR REQUEST AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, as dates do tend to fill up quickly.

Since we are offering applicants the opportunity to request specific audition dates, once auditions have been scheduled and notification of audition dates/times goes out we will not be able to make any changes to the schedule. Therefore, please take a few moments to consider any special needs you may have for particular dates (such as any other New York city auditions you may have) and submit your request by the Jan. 27 deadline.

We anticipate e-mailing you your specific audition date and time within seven business days of the request deadline. Please do not make any travel plans until you have received your official invitation e-mail, and please do not call the Office to check on the status of your request.
